Acne Facts

Acne is the most common skin concern in the United States. Acne normally develops in
the early teenage years – when hormone levels are typically highest – but can extend
into your 20´s and beyond. About 85% of people between the ages of 12–24 experience
some kind of acne breakout. However, teenagers and young adults are not the only
ones affected. Nearly 1 in 4 adults between 25 and 44 years old suffer from breakouts.

While some acne is caused by genetics and hormone surges – which are nearly
impossible to overcome – most acne appears when the following process occurs:

  • The sebaceous glands beneath the skin produce an overabundance of sebum (oil)
  • This oil combines with dead, dry skin cells that accumulate within the pores and clog them
  • Bacteria infects the pores, causing redness,
    swelling and inflammation

There are many types of acne, including whiteheads, blackheads and more serious
forms that can lead to permanent scarring. The good news is that daily use of
SUAVIS is formulated to treat acne, repair and renew your skin and prevent future
breakouts from occuring.
